A scenic road comprising of rolling open heathland dotted with grazing ponies. It gently descends into Brockenhurst passing Wilverley Plain and Hincheslea Moor.

Rhinefield Ornamental Drive

Rhinefield Ornamental Drive is one of the best sections of road cycling in the New Forest.

This narrow avenue is 2 miles (3.2 km) long and is lined with Douglas firs, redwoods, giant sequoias and vibrant rhododendrons. Some of these trees were planted in the mid-1800s and many of them are now over 150 feet (46 m) tall.

Perfect place to spot New Forest wildlife. The felled softwood makes it easy to spot deer and ponies.

It's a beautiful section of narrow road but can get busy with cars in the summer.

Pedal along Rhinefield Ornamental Drive and you'll pass Blackwater Arboretum. Keep and eye out for the Giant Sequoias on the west of the road. There is often an ice-cream van at the car park too.
