View of the confluence of the Sauer and Moselle at Wasserbillig

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Moselle Cycle Path begins in Metz, France, and ends in Koblenz, Rhineland-Palatinate. In between, the cycle path meanders for around 310 kilometers through the foothills of the Eifel and Hunsrück - always along the river that gives it its name. It's definitely going to be international. The Moselle has its source in the French Vosges, touches the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and, after around 550 kilometers, flows into the Rhine at the Deutsches Eck.

View of the Moselle at Wormeldange

Highlight • Viewpoint

With 13 km of Moselle riverbank and around 360 hectares of vineyards, Wormeldingen is the municipality with the largest wine-growing area in the Grand Duchy.
A famous, if not the most famous, Luxembourg vineyard is Wormeldinger Koeppchen. From this hilltop with its small chapel you also have a wonderful view over the Moselle valley.

This is a very mild climb with gradient ranging from 3~7% with a beautiful view of River Mosel. It is highly recommended either direction. Give a little twist to your Mosel riverside ride, traffic is very low. After the climb you have various options, taking a longer climb to the direction of Canach, or another hilly country lane to Gostingen, finally you can go back to flatter river road by riding towards Hettermillen. Or you can ride through vineyards down to the river directly.

The bridge is a very special place in the border triangle of Germany, France and Luxembourg. It connects the Saarland town of Perl with Schengen in Luxembourg. Schengen is known for the agreement of the same name, which was signed here in 1985 and laid the foundation for open borders in Europe.🇪🇺

Among other things, the Europaplatz, a Europamuseum and a Europadenkmal are reminders of the historical importance of the place. Everything can be found very close to the bridge.

Schengen Agreement Monument

Highlight • Monument

The German section of the Way of St. James ends at the border triangle in Perl, if you come from Cologne (including via Prüm, Echternach and Trier) on a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. And - despite the Schengen Agreement with freedom of travel and the abolition of border controls, which this memorial commemorates - the pilgrim's pass is still an important document on the way :-)
