Runway at Gibraltar International Airport

Highlight • Structure

Here you have to walk across the runway if you want to go to Gibraltar. It's really strange. You can watch the planes or helicopters taking off and landing here.

Gibraltar was on the agenda today. From our accommodation in La Linea de Concepción, we took a taxi to the Gibraltar border. With our ID cards, we went through border control, as we were leaving the EU, and in no time we were in the British Overseas Territory.

Our destination was the Rock of Gibraltar, a 426-meter-high limestone monolith.

Today we are to Gibraltar. Even if it's British, you can enter as an EU citizen with your ID. Please walk, car is not recommended. Parking is expensive but definitely less hassle. I didn't like Gibraltar itself, very loud, turbulent, cramped (of course). The currency is the pound, the euro is rarely accepted, the most common means of payment is …

Where else can you just walk across the tarmac of an airport than in Gibraltar and you are on British overseas territory. We walked across Gibraltar. We went through Main Street, the pedestrian arcade, past the cable car station through the botanical gardens and on Europa Road to the southernmost point of Gibraltar. At Europa Point we had an unrestricted …

Ok, the tour is a bit cheated. From the base station of the cable car, we decided against the cable car because of the long queue and opted for a guided car tour that took us to the Rock of Gibraltar. Even if the guys from the tour operator seemed a bit dodgy at first, the tour can definitely be …

From a "Let's go to Gibraltar, pack your swimming trunks!" then became a warm up for the 4 Day Walk of Marbella. 🤪🐵

I love those days when nothing is planned.
The car was parked on the Spanish side of the Gibraltar border and off we went.
I won't write anything further, because I'm pretty broken and so I'll let …

🇬🇧 Today it was Gibraltar. 🇬🇧
(After the comment there are also some nice videos linked 😎😉)

The day before we bought the so-called "Gibraltar Pass" online so that we could visit, have cable cars and buses (and get lots of discounts). 😉
Parked in Spain and then crossed the border.
Took the cable car up to the rock and …

We did the tour with one of the taxis, but there is no better way to explore the island 🤗

Today we made a trip to Gibraltar. I recorded the tour with Komoot. We didn't walk the 16 km entirely on foot. But from the cable car station we went on a round trip with a guide. Visit to the stalactite cave, skywalk, various viewpoints and of course to the 🐒. On foot this would have become very violent in …
