The Gothic House Paretz was formerly a royal blacksmith's shop and is located
on the edge of the English park laid out by court gardener David Garmatter –
opposite the palace and church. The restaurant's facade easily recognizes the Gothic windows that adorn the Paretz village church.
The Gothic House was also designed on David Gilly's drawing boards.

Only, its intended use was different at the time of the laying of the foundation stone in 1796.

With its neo-Gothic pointed window façade, the building is one of the most beautiful houses in the Havelland region. It was a blacksmith's shop and partly a restaurant.
