In 1965, a small park café opened in the southeast corner, reflecting the zeitgeist of the time. In the decades that followed, however, the paths were hardly recognizable.
Since 1996, the city has been gradually restoring the spatial references and routes. She renovated the pergola and the embankment walls and restored the ornamental bed. The whereabouts of a sculpture by Pietro Magni di Milano, The Reader, which stood in the park in the 1960s, was unclear for a long time. She was thought to have disappeared for a while. In 2013 a document was published showing the sculpture in the Berlin State Library.
