View of the Stever

Highlight • Viewpoint

Idyllic view of the Stever. It is always worthwhile to make a short stop here. When vehicles come, however, it gets pretty tight on the narrow bridge ;-)

This bike path is wonderful to drive and is also "group suitable" because it is wide enough to comfortably drive to 2 or 3 next to each other.

Füchtelner Mill

Highlight • Monument

The Füchtelner Mühle is a cultural monument in Olfen that is known far beyond the region. Built between 1301 and 1306, it was almost always used as an oil, grain or sawmill. In 1992, a hydroelectric power plant was built to generate electricity in one of the parts of the building, which can still generate electricity for over 100 households today. A flood ensures that fish and other creatures in the river can move up and down the water. A station on the SteverLandRoute behind the mill provides information about this great project: Here there is a beautiful, shady picnic area with a view of the surrounding water and a water feature - hands-on station for children that allows children to experience the current in the river. The SteverLandRoute is the family cycle path in Münsterland: Here, display boards for adults and information boards especially for children (!) provide information about the great project. There are a total of 14 participation stations along the route. If you like, you can travel from station to station with the children's discovery map, coin print.

The Ternscher See was the destination of my tour and I was rewarded by the beautiful place. After a small snack and a cooling cyclist at the beach bar, I was looking forward to the wonderful return trip. That was my most beautiful route so far.

Windmill Tower of Nordkirchen

Highlight • Monument

In 1716, the owner of Nordkirchen Castle had the windmill built.

On April 1, 1904, miller Heinrich Rath leased the windmill from the Duke of Arenberg.

Around 1920, a suction gas engine was installed.

In 1935, the suction gas engine was replaced by a diesel engine.

During a stormy night, the wind rose, which was used to control the sails, collapsed.

Now the sails could no longer be aligned with the wind.

In 1936, Bernhard Rath and his wife Maria Rath took over the mill.

In 1941/42, the sails were dismantled.

In the mid-1940s, the diesel engine was removed.

Each individual machine was now powered by an electric motor.

In the early 1960s, fine milling was discontinued.

In 1968, a modern hammer mill replaced the millstone grinding mill.

In 2004, the mill tower underwent a complete exterior renovation.

Wonderful tour. Diverse and beautiful. Next time I'll drive it in reverse. Parking is easy at Seepark Ternsche.

My absolute favorite tour.
Nature, peace, coffee and cake, dog beach.
I do it twice a year. The journey from Hagen is okay for such a highlight.

Paid another visit to the Easter bunny 🐇 in Münsterland 😉 OMG🤦 and then there were so many 🐇🐇🐇🤦
The start was at the free parking lot at the castle 🏰 Nordkirchen 👍It was nice and comfortable across the forest, fields and cycle paths across Münsterland. Stork nests near Olfen even with a stork who also brought Em I think …

Today we started a tour from Nordkirchen. The beginning was extremely delicious, I can warmly recommend the ice cream varieties Cookies and Giotto from the Eiscafe San Remo. You also need a few left-turning calories to start a tour - by the way, left-turning calories don't start😜. Past the people like you and me, it went over many Pättkes and …

This is the Pättkes Tour 3 of the castle community of Nordkirchen, well signposted. We had ridden them before last year, but accidentally the wrong way round. This is how you can make life difficult for yourself and push Komoot to its limits 😭😁... Beginner mistakes! So this time right around. With Nordkirchen Castle, the best cycle paths through the …

From Olfen we first went through the Steveraue, then the beach path around Lake Ternscher. The beautiful path along the Funne led me to the Aquapark in Selm. From there I cycled to Nordkirchen.
That was also the actual goal of the tour: for the 1000th anniversary of the city, works of art and concrete sculptures were exhibited by the …
