In the past, the eel weir on Lake Neversdorfer not only served to catch eels. It was also a dam to regulate the water levels in the lake.
The traffic jam, however, meant that migratory fish and microorganisms could no longer get upstream, and thus into Lake Neversdorfer. That is why this floor slider was built.
