The ferry offers itself to cross from Lower Saxony to Mecklenburg or vice versa the Elbe. Scenic once beautiful and quiet. Definitely worth a visit.

Elbe Dike Near Cumlosen

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

Nice route on the dike. A short passage with gravel, but still good to ride on a racing bike.

Evangelical Church Wittenberge

Highlight • Religious Site

The Protestant town church in Wittenberge is a striking Neo-Gothic brick building, consecrated in 1872 after a predecessor building was demolished. The church is located on the southern edge of the old town near the Elbe and is known for its historic organ, the largest in western Brandenburg. Unusual for towns in the Mark, the church is not centrally located on the market square, but rather on the southern edge in the small old town.

Steintor Wittenberge

Highlight • Historical Site

The Stone Gate is the oldest building and the most important landmark of Wittenberg's old town. It was probably built as a medieval gate in the middle of the 13th century in the Gothic style, with the upper part still being a wooden structure.
A second gate in the south was the Elbe Gate, which burned down in 1751.
It dates back to the time when the noble Lord Gans of Putlitz founded the town.
Around 1430, John II of Buch had the tower rebuilt after a town fire in 1297, this time out of stone. In the past, the people of Wittenberg simply called the Stone Gate "Old Tower".
In its history, from the 19th century onwards, it served as a police prison for a long time.
But that ended in 1928, when a town and local history museum was housed here, it was the town's first museum.

Elbe River View in the Aland-Elbe Lowlands

Highlight (Segment) • River

Here you are almost always alone. The easy-to-ride route is more for gravel bikers than for racing cyclists. But this is also more than good. Water birds, birds of prey and again and again the view of and over the Elbe. A pleasure to slow down.
