Marienwerder is a municipality in the district of Barnim in the state of Brandenburg. She is a member of the Biesenthal-Barnim office. Marienwerder also refers to a district of the municipality of the same name.

The (large) community of Marienwerder was formed on May 1, 2001 from the formerly independent communities of Marienwerder and Sophienstädt. On December 31, 2002, the also formerly independent municipality of Ruhlsdorf was added. At that time, all three communities belonged to the Groß Schönebeck (Schorfheide) district, which was formed in 1992.
