Bantikow Castle

Highlight • Castle

The current Bantikow Castle dates from 1906. Even before this new building, there was a castle or fortress on the knight's seat of Bantikow, which had existed since the early 14th century. However, this older building no longer existed at the beginning of the 20th century, which is why the new building in the neo-baroque style was built directly on top of the older core. Bantikow Castle is currently a privately run child and youth welfare facility.

Bantikow Village Church

Plastered hall building made of brick (1792) with polygonal eastern end and wooden western roof tower. The arched building is densely covered with flat buttresses on the outside, pierced windows. Restored in 1996, the western gallery, the ceiling and the roof are mostly renewed.
Simple classicist pulpit altar with side passages, 1792 by G. Günze, Kyritz. The semicircular basket flanked by double pilasters, enthroned beams and passages of sawn vases and cherubs. Matching the wooden baptism. The organ 1876 was built by Friedrich Hermann Lütkemüller from Wittstock. Two bells: the large 1748 by C. D. Heinze, since 2002 they are electrically operated.

Story:

1364 parish village. Introduction of the Reformation 1541. 1557-1784 Mother Church (Superintendent Kyritz) with daughter church Tornow (the list of pastors includes 9 names). Since 1787 Mater vagans of Kyritz, 1977 from the parish Kyritz umgemeindet in the parish Prison Wusterhausen.
The last church patron was until 1945 Frau de Gruyter.
