The view from the bridge to the castle is wonderful and the area is really beautiful. If you are lucky, you will also find grazing Galloways on the other side of the river nearby.

June 8, 2023,Blick zum Wilhelmstein – Surfer Strand 🏄‍♂️🌊 Runde von Steinhude
The plan was actually "once around the Steinhuder Meer"... 31 km it should be. But after 20 km only over asphalt from Mardorf to Steinhude, I then decided to take a shortcut, probably because of my little hiking buddy🐶.... And we crossed the water back to Mardorf. It was still very nice 😎🌞🏖️🌊

Second part of the Steinhude Lake Circumnavigation.

We've barely left Steinhude when we spot several great crested grebe nests in the reeds. In the Meerbruchswiesen nature reserve, an osprey's nest can be seen some distance away. Here, too, there are several vantage points where several animals (e.g., a kingfisher) can be observed.

Hello, a wonderful tour. It goes away from the water for a long time, but the moor is a nature reserve and must be walked around. We went back by boat. You have to subtract 8 kilometers (boat) - then you have the kilometers walked.

Today it was called bike 🚲 vs. feet 🥾 ... the bike tour was completely around the lake, for the feet the second half was on the plan.
In Winzlar we met for a short break together 😀
Today's section was much more lengthy 😅, the entire loop around the lake is less suitable for hiking, great by bike 👍🏼 …
