Velosol Cycling Cafe

Highlight • Cafe

An obligatory stop when you go out for a ride on the roads of the Marina Alta. A place with everything you need, coffee and bar with a very good offer and quality, a workshop to repair any emergency and a very friendly treatment of all the staff. A highly recommended site!

Xaló Flea Market

Highlight • Settlement

The village of Xaló is a fairly quiet village located inland on the Costa Blanca. Xaló is mainly known for the wine growing that takes place around the village and the weekly flea market that is held every Saturday.
During the week there is not much to do in Xaló but on Saturday the west side of the village changes into one big flea market. In total there are about 200 to 250 stalls and stalls to be found at this market.

The flea market usually starts around 08:00 and lasts until about 14:00.

👉 Tip: Alcalalí has a rich history dating back to around 1020, when it was part of the Moorish Kingdom of Dénia. Take a stroll through the narrow streets and discover traces of its medieval past, including the 14th-century tower and the church in the village centre.

If you visit in February, the valley around Alcalalí is covered in pink and white almond blossoms — one of the most beautiful sights in the Costa Blanca. Afterwards, stop at one of the local cafés on the village square for a coffee or a snack before continuing your ride.

Lemon Pass (Llosa de Camacho Road)

Highlight (Segment) • Mountain Pass

I personally try to avoid this road in the direction to Alcalali in times when I expect heavier car traffic. For a more solitary road, you can try the one between Gata de Gorgos and Lliber. This Llosa de Camacho road is better surfaced and more direct, and I prefer it for the descent to Pedreguer.

View of the Sierra de Segària

Highlight • Viewpoint

As you ride from Pedreguer toward Beniarbeig, take a moment to look up — the views of the Sierra de Segària and the surrounding mountains are spectacular. Especially in the morning light, the peaks rise above the orchards and farmland like a natural wall. It’s a tranquil stretch of road with panoramic scenery, perfect for spinning the legs and soaking in the Costa Blanca landscape.

Parcent–Xaló Road

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

Nice road over the plateau between Parcent and Xaló. There is also some car traffic here but the roads are wide and the visibility is good so you can cycle here nicely.
