Great and fast to ride trail. This trail is used not only by cyclists but also by hikers. Be careful and be considerate.

On foot or by bike, both easy to do!

But it used to be different here! There was a huge stock of trees, mostly oak trees - and you can find them again in Hamburg now... the entire warehouse district was built on these oak piles. Hence the great foresight today.

The trail starts on the Wilseder mountain, just at the "cyclist dismount" sign. ;) It goes on gravel full throttle down the mountain, where you have to go after a few meters in the iron to get the sharp right turn. However, it continues here neat downhill, through wide and fast corners. These can not always be fully understood, so do not rivet anyone around. After about half it gets a bit flatter, but with some pedal power it's still fast. When you reach the forest, it goes back uphill, this time on solid forest soil, clay and gravel. A really nice Highspeedtrail .... in my opinion the fastest in the Wilseder environment! 🚲🔥

Millions of delicate flowers glow in the light of the late summer sun. When August arrives and the heather blooms, the herb transforms the Lower Saxony region into a magical setting.

From Wilsede two paths lead southwards to the ground of the dead. Once there, you have a great view over the heath and far beyond - absolutely recommendable! Interesting for mountain bikers: From the vantage point, several trails lead down: the Totentrail, the Holzbergtrail and Steingrundtrail. Have fun!

Suhorn nature view - fantastic view of the Wümme valley
The landscape of the Lüneburg Heath is almost endless. You can experience the vastness of our landscape particularly well on the Suhorn terminal moraine near Niederhaverbeck.
The Suhorn is located in the small heath village of Niederhaverbeck. From here you have a breathtaking view over the headwaters of the Wümme with its heather.

The Suhorn lies on a terminal moraine that forms a watershed. The Wümme, which rises here, flows westward over the Hamme and Lesum and flows into the Lower Weser.

If you let your eyes wander in an easterly direction, you can see green meadows in the distance. The water from this source area flows east over the rivers Brunau, Luhe and Ilmenau and flows into the Elbe at Hoppte.

A good 100 years ago, the dropout Dorothea Möller-Guttmann decided to settle in this landscape. She lived here in a small hut that had long since been destroyed. The heathland here on the Suhorn inspired Dorothea Möller-Guttmann to write poetry under the pseudonym "Haidefrau". Dorothea Möller-Guttmann was not just a poet, she was also very familiar with the healing power of plants and with this talent she also went down in history as "Wümm-Mudder".

The Suhorn terminal moraine is on the 5th stage of the Heidschnuckenweg from Niederhaverbeck to Bispingen (17 km).

In Wilsede, we had the obligatory pea soup with bockwurst again. And??
It was delicious again‼️😊

An incredibly great route! I had to laugh a lot because it was so much fun and I had no idea what was possible with the great bike and how it compensated for my limited abilities 🙈😆
I'm not a mountain biker yet, but more of a cyclist with a MTB 😅
But what isn't yet can still become.

Turmberg - Bolterberg - Wilseder Berg. After the mountain bike ride, we enjoyed a fortifying pea soup with bratwurst in Wilsede. And an isotonic thirst quencher to go with it.
Overall, a beautiful day in the heathland.
