Celtic Wall and Stone Ridges at Kienbein

Highlight • Historical Site

The stone walls here in the area are on the one hand picked stones from plowing, and here also part of an old fortification of 800-475 BC. Here a moat was carved into the rock.

I didn't want to go far today because of the thunderstorm warning. Because it was already so warm, I wanted to leave the sunny section behind us early. Of course Madame complained that I was walking in the wrong direction. Put them on "mute". Then why can't Komoot just turn the tide? I always forget to do it myself. Unfortunately …

Many thanks to @K2000 and @Seestern 73 🦔 for the good tip about the kite festival.🪁
First we hiked along the Albtrauf and around the Kienbein. Then there was a nice ending at the kite festival at the Hülben airfield. There were lots of dragons to admire. Food and drinks were also provided.

The sun let itself be seen through the clouds / fog for a short time this afternoon. We had beautiful views from the rocks through the fog to Neuffen and Beuren. A great night eaves round that we should do again with the rare plants, forest lizards and birds conditionally. 🦎🌼🌺🐦

There was wind and the sun also showed up. We were able to marvel at flying elephants, ducks, 😈, mini mice...
We were inspired by K2000 and Seestern, thank you very much for that, it was a nice tour and the catering was …

Ran after Tanja's round today, it was fun 😃👍🏻

Sunny cozy Albtrauf tour without big differences in altitude.
The path runs right along the edge. Roots and stones everywhere on the narrow path through light-flooded bare beech forests. Hellebore and the first wood anemones are blooming ☺️

Get out again and perhaps enjoy the “summer” with us for the last time this year.🤗

Unfortunately, the hope that it would be a bit sunny on the Alb was not fulfilled today. So a tour, without any hiker encounters, on easily accessible paths on the Albtrauf. Due to the increasingly cloudy weather, I then shortened the planned tour a bit
