Runs well on the dike. Only the last km before Itzehoe were overgrown, we then walked the parallel bike path.

Very nice, idyllic tour through the forest and along the Stör. Partly a bit muddy, so be sure to wear suitable shoes! Many flocks of birds, which find good food in the marsh.
Breitenburg Castle can only be visited after registration, you could see through the trees from the dike.

A great tour.
First along the dike with a beautiful view of the Stör. Then through the beautiful town of Itzehoe with some historic buildings where we also warmed up and fortified ourselves at a Vietnamese restaurant. Then we went back through the forest, which is probably even more beautiful at other times of the year.

A very varied tour through mixed forest and along the Stör river.

After the party comes the walk, or something like that...

After a long night of partying (💍💍), we opted for a leisurely first exploration of the Breitenburger Forest near Itzehoe.

First, we strolled through a sparse forest with sand dunes and ponds, which boasted beautiful reflections. I was particularly taken with a riverside path that led us through a field …

Hello, spotted two oil beetles on the hike. One on the Stördeich and one in the forest near Itzehoe. (poisonous) rhymer

Again I 'had' to go to Itzehoe, again I was allowed to hike. Now in the footsteps of Hans Christian Andersen, and back along the southern bank of the Stör.

Start near the town hall into the Malzmüllerwiesen and soon into the forest. I don't strictly follow the Andersen-Steig, as the Kratt and the 'Kochschen Dünen' further north interest me. …

A nice, varied tour 😍 The mix of forest, mountains of sand, a small lake and dyke 🐑 on the Stör is just fun to walk 😄
Unfortunately it rained more often🌧 but the sun🌞 kept coming through😀
The dog gang had a lot of fun😍
Today the little dachshund chocolate 🐶🍫 was still there 🥰

A wonderful path along the dike along the Stör River. It was just low tide and the water was deep. The Stör meanders in its own channel here...
The contrast is the forest on the Kochsche Kuhlen, probably former gravel and sand pits that have been abandoned. A beautiful forest with streams and a few ponds.
