Construction work includes, among other things, a new church wall around the cemetery in 1728 and the renovation of the church tower in 1775. An extensive reconstruction and church extension took place between 1784 and 1786. The result was a hall church in the Margrave style. The nave was raised, a flat ceiling was added, new windows were installed, and the pulpit was positioned on the southern triumphal arch pillar. In addition, the interior was supplemented with new pews and the Saxon diamond-wreath coat of arms of Duke Ernst Friedrich was placed in the ceiling. A new organ was also installed. The writer Friedrich Rückert is buried in the churchyard.
