Monument to the Fishermen of the Pensativo Shipwreck

The monument is designed to resemble a traditional fishing boat used in the local Arte Xávega fishing tradition. It commemorates the fishermen who were involved in the sinking of the fishing vessel Pensativo on 12 December 1929. The memorial lists both the fishermen who died and those who survived and was erected as a tribute from the people of Costa da Caparica to their "men of the sea."
