View of Lake Myczkowskie and the Heart on Suchy Berd Hill

Highlight • Viewpoint

The Bieszczady heart, which is not in the Bieszczady Mountains, but in the Sanocko-Turczańskie Mountains.

Driving along the picturesque road from Myczkowce to Solina, passing the inactive quarry in Bóbrka, you can see something extraordinary - a huge Bieszczady heart hidden behind the waters of the Myczkowiecki Reservoir. This symbol of love has become a point of interest for both residents and tourists. What is the history of the heart in the Bieszczady Mountains? The creator of this heart is a man who decided to honor the memory of his wife, Maria, by planting a huge heart made of red bushes on the slope of Suchy Berdo. The history of their relationship is saturated with love, which the test of time was unable to destroy. In the Bieszczady Mountains, they found their unique place, where they also built the Solinianka hotel and planned to create a cable car. Unfortunately, Maria did not live to see the implementation of this project. (...)

Biblical Garden Myczkowce

Highlight • Structure

The garden design was prepared by Dr. Hab. Eng. Zofia Włodarczyk, researcher at the Department of Ornamental Plants, Faculty of Horticulture, University of Agriculture in Krakow.

The Biblical Garden is a place that, through the natural environment, i.e. the plants planted there that are mentioned in the Bible, as well as through other elements of the composition, introduces people to the events presented in the pages of the Holy Scripture.

Lesko Synagogue

Highlight • Religious Site

In its structure, it has many solutions that are inconsistent with the synagogue building regulations of that time, including a round corner tower and vases crowning the gables. The tower features original circular stairs leading to the former prison for Jews. The interior design has not survived. During World War II, the Nazis devastated the temple.

Lesko Town Hall

Highlight • Monument

It is a two-story building covered with a high roof and a clock display. It was built in 1896 in an eclectic style. It is a perfect example of how seemingly completely mutually exclusive architectural elements are freely combined in one building. The result was an interesting effect.

The building contains features of neo-Gothic, neo-Renaissance, neo-baroque and classicist elements. The windows are topped with cornices typical of the Renaissance period. The single-story facade of the building refers to the classicist style. The soaring roof also looks interesting. It brings to mind the soaring finials of Gothic temples.

Above the entrance there is the coat of arms of Lesko from the period of the original owners of the city - the Kmita family.

Currently, the building is the seat of the city authorities, performing administrative and representative functions.

Ruins of the Orthodox Church

Highlight • Religious Site

Ruins of a brick church built in 1868. In 1920 it was renovated, but after the war it was abandoned. In the 1950s, the Roman Catholic Church tried to take it over, but this attempt failed. Soon, the sheet metal from the roof was torn off by State Agricultural Farm workers, and the building fell into increasing disrepair. The walls and polychromes on the arches have been preserved to this day. The ruins are open to the public, a bit overgrown, but you can get inside without any problems.

Churches of Myczków

Highlight • Religious Site

A brick Greek Catholic church from 1899. After the war and the displacement of Greek Catholics, the state authorities used the church as a warehouse, and later the building was scheduled for demolition. In 1977, the former Orthodox church was taken over by Catholics and after renovation it was turned into a church. In 1999, a brick screen bell tower was built.
