I actually wanted to walk to Camara de Lobos. However, the bridge just before Camara de Lobos was signposted as impassable and closed due to construction work.
You could "climb" over the stones under the bridge and continue your journey, but I just didn't feel like it today.
The tunnel is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The way back directly or above the sea is the easier and more beautiful way. From the beach through the tunnel (handmade) is recommended with a great 'window to the sea

Nice path without any elevation gain. Nice bars along the way. Don't forget your towel if you want to swim in the sea.

Beautiful hike. With some ups and downs. Exclusively on firm surfaces. Always along the sea, with swimming opportunities. Taking the bus on the return journey is recommended, otherwise it will be quite strenuous due to the distance. Highly recommended is a lunchtime snack at the Casa do Farol in Camara de Lobos. Lots of Portuguese guests, which is always a …

Churchill and Sissi stayed in the picturesque fishing village of Camara do Lobos - rightly so! 😃 Palm trees, palm trees, palm trees on the way there. 🌴 Unfortunately, the pedestrian tunnel to Praia Formosa is closed like four years ago. But it should reopen in May. 🥲

Totally relaxed hike from Funchal to the fishing village in the southwest of the island; and always the sea within reach. Unfortunately, the pedestrian tunnel da Doca do Cavacas is not accessible. (next time 😉)
We had the perfect day with very sunny weather and a light breeze from the sea - this excursion is a must when visiting Madeira.🤩

Today I'm hiking with you along Madeira's stormy south coast. On New Year's Day, a real storm raged here, the sea was churning, and the waves practically exploded against the rugged cliffs – a truly spectacular natural phenomenon. Despite the rain and the ever-present spray, we got soaked to the bone while enjoying the stunning views, but it was a …
