The Episcopal Church of Saint Anselm is in the center of Nin. It was a cathedral during the time of the Croatian rulers and afterward. It was built in the 6th century and renovated during the reign of King Zvonimir in 1070. Since then she has suffered major damage several times. It received its current structural shape in the 18th century. The chapel of Saint Marcella from the 15th century leans on the bell tower side. She is also called 'Our Lady of Zečevo'. Here is the statue of the Mother of God with her son in her arms. There is also a tombstone of Bishop Jurje Divnić from the Renaissance in the chapel. The statue was brought to Zadar in 1646 to protect it from the Venetians. However, 10 years later it was brought back to the chapel, where it is today. Our Lady, who is venerated in Nin as 'Our Lady of Zečevo', is celebrated in a special way. That is why it is the main place of pilgrimage of the Archdiocese of Zadar.

The bell tower of the Episcopal Church of Saint Anselm lies to the west of the original cathedral and is an independent stone building. About 30 years ago, a major conservation renovation was carried out on the church, revealing its original architectural form. The tower is believed to be from the 13th century and was probably reconstructed in the 17th century.

Church of St. The Cross, called the smallest cathedral in the world, is the most valuable preserved monument of old Croatian church architecture and one of the symbols of Nin. The position and beauty dominate the space in which it is located. It was built in the 9th century, in the period of early Christianity. It is the only sacral building in Nin that has remained intact since its construction until today. It is 7.80 m long, 7.60 m wide, 8.20 m high (internal dimensions) and the thickness of the walls is 57 cm. It was built on the remains of ancient houses whose remains are still visible today. In the time of Croatian rulers, it served as the court chapel of the nearby duke's court. Many medieval graves have been discovered around the church.

Thanks to the position of the windows and the angle of incidence of the light, the church is a kind of calendar, so the exact date of the solstice and equinox can be determined by the sun's rays, which is the starting point for an interesting event of the Festival of Sun and Light.

Fascinated by its beauty, the famous English architect Thomas Jackson called it the smallest cathedral in the world.
