Flåm Church

Highlight • Religious Site

The altarpiece is from 1681 and shows mountains and peasant costumes. The decorations in the choir are from the same time and have Weinrankenmuster.Die decorations in the nave were later decorated and are unique as church art.
Under the restoration in 1967 found an old robe that was used until 1930 as antependium. According to research, it has been found that it is a knight's coat from the year 1300, which was woven in Venice. This is the loneliest piece found here in the country.

Church is open during the summer months.

Countless waterfalls follow on the route to Myrdal and this one is still rather unspectacular. It's worth continuing!

The tour is scenically sensational, BUT: the first section through the serpentines should not be underestimated. It's extremely steep here and the path is loose gravel, not firm, non-slip ground! Cornering and braking requires some skill. After the switchbacks, it's not a problem and you can concentrate on the landscape. Have fun!!!👍

The lower part is less spectacular than the top, but the river is still worth seeing, as are the waterfalls that cascade down the cliffs here too.

Here the river flows through a cave in the rock. Incredible amounts of water rush by.

Beautiful bike ride parallel to the Flam Railway line. Unfortunately I started Komoot too late. The total out and back trip was about 40-45 kilometers along countless waterfalls and through breathtaking gorges.

The first 2.5km are difficult because of the steep and narrow switchbacks. The surface is not easy. But it's worth it!

Took the Flåm Railway to Myrdal with my own bikes

Wonderful descent, super steep, gravel was mostly very solid and easy to ride. Waterfalls everywhere and beautiful! Camping reached in Flåm in the rain.

Take the Flam Railway up and then enjoy the ride back down

A relaxed downhill tour from Myrdal, 800 meters down to Flam. You can admire the impressive Scandinavian mountains with their many waterfalls. A zip line has been installed in the upper part, which you can use to whizz down the first steep section. There is a small refreshment stop at the end of the line. A break like this is …

Today we did the classic Norwegian cruise traveler's route by bike, not on the Flam Railway. The end station of the Flam Railway in Myrdal is in the middle of nowhere, but still a highlight. We skipped the zipline back into the valley, as the steep path downhill with lots of loose stuff in the bends promised much more of …

The journey planned for yesterday with the Flåm Railway to Myrdalen and back with the e-bikes took place today. For the first time we had problems with the ticket booking on the Internet and had to clarify this at the counter and book again.
The train ride is great, but I didn't record it. There are several stops, the most …
