Highlight • Pub

Pub, restaurant and shop all in one. Stopped here for some lunch after the ride and wasn't disappointed - the staff were really friendly and the food was good. The courtyard is all set up for outdoor eating and there's a rack for bikes too... and the nicest outside toilets I've ever seen!
There's also a little shop if you need to stock up on mid-ride snacks or provisions.
Pub opening hours: Sun, Mon, Wed & Thurs 12:00 - 22:00.
Fri & Sat: 12:00 - 23:00.
Pub closed on Tuesday.
On open days food served from 12:00 - 20:30.
Shop opening hours: From 09:00 - when the pub closes (open at 10:00 on Sundays).
The shop is also closed on Tuesdays.

Fantastic Pub in Alwinton. Been in the same family since 1904, and always very keen to welcome cyclists. Camping offered in the field adjacent the pub. Vegetarian Friendly.

River Breamish

Highlight • Cycleway

Carving through the picturesque Breamish Valley, the River Breamish flows past some of England's most important archaeological sites in the heart of the Northumberland National Park. Surrounded by hills, the river is an especially beautiful corner of Northumberland. The Breamish rises on Comb Fell and passes over the Cheviot Hills before joining the River Till near Wooler.

Amazing little café with a museum attached.

Really friendly staff and delicious home cooked food.

A perfect stop for anyone doing the Sandstone Way.

Tea rooms open daily (see winter and summer opening times). In the same building you'll find Ingram Visitor Centre, which includes the Breamish Valley Archaeology Exhibition.

Ingram Café and Visitor Centre

Highlight • Rest Area

Iconic cafe, absolutly worth the out and back ride to find it if you're on a road bike. The staff are brilliant and the cakes, hot drinks, scones and soup are all well made and tasty.
Very safe for your bike if you sit inside or out as it's the end of the road and there won't be many people here unless you time it to coincide with one of the races that start here.
