Hard road ride. Very good fitness required. Mostly well-paved surfaces and easy to ride. The starting point of the route is right next to a parking lot.

Watchet Harbour and West Somerset Railway

Highlight • Structure

Lovely harbour town with all the amenities. Parking, and most importantly access to both Exmoor (hilly) and the Quantocks (HILLY). Does get a tad busy in peak season, but then this is the Costa Del Somerset so what did you Expect?

Blue Anchor Bay

Highlight • Beach

Blue Anchor bay is on the Bristol Channel between Watchet and Minehead. It's a small settlement and one of the smaller stops on the West Somerset Heritage railway line.
The beach is large and rocky/sandy. The tide moves quickly here.
The road follows the coast for about 1km, it's a nice surface and a great stretch to ride.

Porlock Toll Road

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

This is about 7km of fairly easy switch backs to the top. As close as Alpine fun as you’ll get in the South West. Bring your £1 for the toll. It is worth it for the achievement, views and good surface.

Glen Lyn Gorge

Highlight • Gorge

Most of the pictures here do NOT show the Gorge!!!!

The entrance to it is clearly signposted and is exactly where you can see the water fountain. You pay 10 pounds entry per person, are greeted in a friendly manner and are given historical and technical background information about the exhibition. After visiting it, we continue along the river on steep paths to various waterfalls. This is very nice, especially if you're just passing through Lynmouth and only have time for a mini hike but still want to experience something. Or if you really want to get to know the place and are interested in technology and/or history.
There are plenty of benches and picnic options, and the large parking lot with restrooms is just a few minutes from the entrance. Cafes and pubs are plentiful in Lynmouth.

Exmoor Forest Road Climb

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The most magnificent road through Exmoor. Quiet, foggy and rainy at times, steep out of Lynnouth, this is simply too gorgeous to leave out.
