The Fisherman's Rest

Highlight • Pub

Lovely pub with great food and outdoor seating right by the beach. Located in Seatown, it's a perfect spot to relax and refuel after a run along the Jurassic Coast. Golden Cap - the highest point on the south coast of England - rises just behind the pub and makes and enjoyable climb, with great views from the summit. There's also a good campsite - Golden Cap Holiday Park - just across the road from the pub.

Golden Cap Summit

Highlight • Summit

The Golden Cap is the best place on the ride to experience the expansive sea views. It should be, as it is the highest point along England's south coast. What's more, there is bridleway right past it, so you can peddle right to the south coast's summit, and gaze down at the churning sea, 191 metres below you!

Seatown Beach

Highlight • Beach

As you continue along the route south of Chideock, with the road dropping to the coast as you look for the bridleway east that will guide you up to Doghouse Hill, why not carry on down the hill to the beach for a little R&R? There are plenty of opportunities for refreshments down here, as well as the chance to cool off on the shore while taking in the splendour of the Jurassic Coast.
