Glenfinnan Estate Road Along the River Finnan

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

This is a private road running through the Glenfinnan Estate and leading to Corryhully Bothy. It's a fantastic stretch of cycling with views of mountains lined with dense conifer forests. It follows the course of the Finnan River.

Expect to see wild deer roaming free and enjoy cycling under the arches of the iconic Glenfinnan viaduct.

Corryhully Bothy

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Corryhully bothy, beter known as the 'Electric' bothy is a great maintained bothy in the Glennfinnan Estate. In contrast to most other Scottish bothies, this one is not maintained by the M.B.A. (Mountain Bothy Association), but by the estate itself... by Alistor the 'estate manager' to be exact (see picture of guy with hat). Friendliest of persons. We met on out way in near the Glennfinnan viaduct and he gave us some wood to burn.
The bothy itself is basic but neat. It has everything it needs and as a bonus and even has electricity! For all this they friendly ask for something in their donation box, so bring some cash :)
Disadvantage is the fact that it is close to society. Often some late 'drops ins' from the last train in at Glennfinnan train station. Not a bothy to be alone in ;)

Dail Beag Viaduct

Highlight • Viewpoint

A great spot for a picnic or even a paddle. Keep going past the visitor centre to the trials for the viaduct. The estate goes much further so it is worth exploring the beautiful trail north of the viaduct.
