Talisker Distillery and The Oyster Shed, Carbost

Highlight • Settlement

Carbost is the largest settlement on the Minginish peninsula. It's best known for the Talisker Distillery which has a visitor centre, shop and tasting rooms. The Oyster Shed, just up the hill from the distillery is also very much worth a visit and probably better for cyclists who want to be able to continue their ride in a straight line!
There is also a very handy local shop.

Talisker is the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye and is located on the shores of Loch Harport with stunning views of the Cuillins.

Guided tours and tastings are available and must be booked in advance.

Children under 8 are welcome in the visitor center but are not permitted in the production areas.
