Nice riding on the Longdendale trail. Nothing difficult so a nice trail for families with kids. Can get very busy so pick your time well. Weekends is obviously always relatively busy. Nice views all along the trail.

Remnants of the three major rail links between Manchester and Sheffield. Awesome piece of history!

Winscar Reservoir

Highlight • Structure

A large reservoir with spectacular scenery, the Winscar Reservoir is popular with hikers and bikers as well as windsurfers and sailors. The Pennine Sailing Club has its base at the reservoir. Surrounded by hills, the calm waters of the reservoir are a great place to have a break. During the summer, you can stop off at the ice cream van for a treat!

Little bit of Zone 2 training on Longdendale, then carried on the ride over to Langsett Reservoir via the Trans Pennine.
Put the Garmin in my pocket and just enjoyed the ride. Nice little route. Only effort was up Windle Edge on the way back, ridiculously gusty head wind all the way up it. Like riding in treacle.
