Looking at the valley to the west, the Panaro and the Casona quarry dominate the view, but looking up you can enjoy the view of the ridge of the Ospitaletto hills (which are in bloom in spring).

tour to do if it rained the day before :-D

Beautiful tour guided by my friend Massimo, a super cyclist and MTBiker, who adapted to my tourist pace in his Apennines of Modena. Very hot, but the area is rich in fountains, essential on a day like today. Excellent mixed route of asphalt/gravel/natural terrain (in the woods: the "aviator's" descent is super).

Starting from Spilamberto, the route is one of those I often do: the Nature Route - via Castiglione.
But, as we know, the life of a cyclist is made of ups and downs - especially when the climb comes! And it is right there that those two on e-bikes pass me on the fly.
I arrive at the legendary Pieve …

a simple tour also suitable for gravel ... be careful, however, the first ascent is for Colombian climbers (over 18%) or for e-bikes! also watch out for post-rain landslides... (they made me vary the lap several times)

In Marano we took a bit longer to find a rotisserie that makes fresh pasta, for an improvised lunch with ricotta tortelloni at Gianni's house.

White ride... for when it rained in the previous days and you don't want to sink your shoe in half a meter of mud 😝
