Lagoon Cycle Path

Highlight • Cycleway

Here you always drive directly along the water, you just have to take the well-developed cycle path out of Grado, but it's worth it 💯

Super nice view on both sides. Unfortunately, there is no real bike path or footpath, so it is best to use the narrow strip to take photos without damage. 😉👍

June 25, 2023,Extra-Etappe: Von Grado nach Triest
After just one day of rest exploring Grado, our legs were already tingling again. We gave in to this tingling, got on our bikes and rode to Trieste.

The first 30 km are very beautiful despite a fairly long diversion (see the circle on the map): great cycle paths lead through wetlands and bird paradises on the Achterwasser.

June 4, 2025,Triest - Grado
Leaving Trieste, a relaxing ride began in summer temperatures on the SS14, whose shoulders were sufficiently wide and whose surface was almost comfortable. The coastline of the enormous bay enchanted us again and again. Shortly after the Monument to the Wolves, we reached the plain from which a cycle path led to Grado. It was so flat here that you …

By far the best stage along the coast to Trieste so far. One photo should actually be called "View of Castello Duino".

Yesterday took its toll, I have to admit. The almost 160km are still in my bones 😫. Today was actually supposed to be a rest day to gather strength for the upcoming mountain stages. But unfortunately, plan and reality didn't match 🥴. Simply because it's beautiful, I wanted to take the boat from Grado to Trieste in the afternoon and …

Today we traveled from Grado to Trieste - last stage! It was a nice tour despite the heat, but a lot on main roads, but mostly on bike paths. Shortly before Trieste, traffic was backed up, so caution was advised. We rode through nature reserves and a lot along the sea. Wonderful 🤩 Now we have about 480 km behind …

The journey to Trieste takes place with a liner in the port of Grado (not the city port). This takes bikes as long as there is enough space. The trip to Trieste takes about 1.5 hours. After a short tour of the city, we first went back towards Grado along the coast road. We didn't really enjoy the first 20 …
