View of Kastelbell Castle

Highlight • Castle

First documented in 1238, Castelbello Castle dominates the Venosta Valley from a rocky outcrop on the left bank of the Adige River. From the cycle path, it is clearly visible above several apple orchards.

Relaxed uphill to the entry on asphalt. The Monte Sole is one of the best I've ridden. Flowy with technical sections. Shortly before the end, however, it's a real S4!!

The tour deserves its name, in my opinion, more for the 2nd, flowing half. The first half is often very rough to drive and requires technical ability and stamina.

Overall very worthwhile, but if you are looking for more flow in the region, you are definitely better off with the Barabarossa Trail.

Start/Finish: Goldrain, train station car park.
Circular route anti-clockwise.
Ascent from Goldrain on a barely used asphalt road (moderately steep) to the St. Martin am Kofel mountain station.
Type of the trail:
Varied, fun flow trail through the pine forest above Latsch. Mostly S1. Many sections S2. Experienced S2 riders will get their money's worth. I would also recommend the …

Ascent on a little-used asphalt road, trail descent SunnyBenny or Montesoletrail - S2, mostly easy to ride, some slightly rough sections - then suddenly much more difficult in the lower, last section (at least S3).
While it was -5° in the valley this morning, you can still bike on the Sonnenberg in shorts and a t-shirt - one name, one …

The Stosnmandltrail or path 😉 was cool, about S2.
The lower part of the Tschillitrail was rocky and blocked, super rideable. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

2022, October ...absolutely not recommended from km 20 ...In the beginning still good, but then actually only for experts...O.k., I was on the road with a Haibike, not a fully, and with saddlebags, others too, who the who have already ridden the route in the past and who were on the road with suitable fullys, have pushed sections...
