View of Michaelerkirche (St. Michael's Church) in Steyr

Highlight • Religious Site

The Michaelerkirche is also a very beautiful church, imposing towers in front of the confluence of the Enns and Steyr, an eye-catcher from the outside and certainly worth a visit ...

Rarely does one find anywhere in a city the opportunity to stand so directly at the confluence of two rivers. Steyr on the left, Enns on the right. In this confluence, the colors of the two rivers mix and then flow together as the Enns to the mouth of the Danube in Mauthausen.

Highlight • Structure

One of the ways to get from the town square to the Ennskai without. Be careful! Tall people have to duck their heads ;-)

Tunnel of Remembrance, Steyr

Highlight • Historical Site

The Gallery of Remembrance is a permanent exhibition on forced labor and concentration camps in the city of Steyr in Upper Austria. The exhibition is located in a former air raid shelter under Lamberg Castle, which was built in 1943 by forced laborers from the Steyr-Münichholz concentration camp.
The Mauthausen Committee Steyr is the sponsoring association and responsible for the content of the exhibition. The scientific curation was carried out by the historian Regina Wonisch in cooperation with a team of curators from the association, who were involved in the conceptual design of the content. The association received scientific and conceptual advice from contemporary historian Bertrand Perz. The Museum Arbeitswelt Steyr is responsible for educational support.[1] Bernhard Denkinger designed the exhibition. It has been published in several architecture magazines
