Nieuw-Beijerland - The municipal border of Oud- and Nieuw-Beijerland once ran straight through the Brakelsveer lock on the Spuidijk. The flour mill De Swaen, located on the Spuidijk, was originally built in 1703 as De Windlust. Not much is known about the history before about 1900.
