Seutula Chapel

Highlight • Religious Site

The Seutula Chapel, or Königstedt Chapel, is a wooden rectangular long church built in 1925 on the lands of Königstedt Manor in Vantaa, Finland. The Bishop of Helsinki, Aarre Lauha, inaugurated the chapel on May 2, 1965, and the then Prime Minister Johannes Virolainen also took part in the event.

A wing building lower than the frame protrudes from the altar end of the church, at the opposite end there is a tower-like part and at the end there is a high-top roof rider. The windows have segmented arc ends. The building was repaired in 1969-1970, the renovation was done in 1979, when a loft was built in the church and it was consecrated for re-use. The church covers an area of 237 square meters including the loft and has seating for 120 people. The church's 4-voice organ was made by the Kangasala organ factory in 1969, the altarpiece was painted by an unknown artist.

During the church's 60th anniversary celebrations in 1985, the chapel received a clock cast in the Dutch foundry of Pettit & Fritsen.
