Natural Bridge Over the Schwarzwasserbach

Highlight • Natural Monument

A ladder leads down to the natural bridge that leads over the Schwarzwasserbach. At times the Schwarzwasserbach is completely dry, so you can explore the stream bed in this area on foot.

Went for a lovely walk along the Schwarzwasser stream. We crossed a see-saw suspension bridge. Natural bridge with temperature difference, Kneipp facility with sun lounger highly recommended.

Beautiful tour in the valley when the mountains are covered in fog

Perfect weather with a guaranteed good mood. Unfortunately, we were there at a very inopportune time for hiking. We had planned some lovely snowshoe hikes, but the onset of the thaw and the overnight frost meant the trails were extremely difficult to traverse – icy as hell. As a result, there were a few falls, thankfully without injuries, perhaps thanks …

The geology of the Schwarzwasser is shaped by the rocks of the Allgäu Alps. These consist mainly of limestone, dolomites and gneiss. The Hohe Ifen, from which the Schwarzwasser rises, consists of main dolomite, a rock that was formed around 220 million years ago.

Beautiful hiking trail in the Schwarzwassertal. Almost like in a gorge 👍
But here you can still swim in the water or even in the kettle holes... If you're hardened🥶 the water has a temperature like in a Kneipp pool... So nothing for wimps like us🤭
But just wonderful 😍... at least your feet cooled down 😉
