Argen Gorge

Highlight • Gorge

The vertical, 100 meter towering layer walls made of hard limestone are of great scientific importance. They accompany the "Ludwigsweg" through the Argenschlucht almost to the waterfall. So far, the family can hike with children and prams.

Here at the front Ugaalpe it should probably be better called “view of the Damülser Mittagsspitze” 😉

June 19, 2025,Damülser Runde - Argenschlucht, Bödmeralpe, Damüls, Ugaalpe, Argenwald
It's really steep right from the start. No rolling in 😄.
The Argen Gorge is truly amazing. Very beautiful. From Damüls to the Ugaalpe, it's steep again, and paved. The further down, it's steep and loose gravel.
Down through the Argen Forest in switchbacks. Beautiful.
And then down the Faschina road at 60 km/h. Wow.

Great and quite demanding tour from Au around Damüls. Right at the beginning, a killer climb through the forest on forest roads with good grip. The cow trough was very welcome, I would have liked to have completely fooled myself 😄.
Damüls itself is visibly designed for ski tourism, including a few big hotels (but these are at least covered …

Damüls is characterized by alpine skiing. But you have a nice panoramic view when you are at the top of the mountain station.

The Ugaalpe is wonderfully surrounded by mostly green mountains at an altitude of 1,820 meters in a high plateau. For the last ascent from Damüls to the Ugaalpe, we treated ourselves to the chairlift, which saves a little over 400 meters in altitude. Absolutely recommendable to stay high up 👍👍👍

I set a height profile picture for the pictures as it should look!
Tour is very recommendable, landscape mega!

Showing Translation

Nice MTB tour that does not demand too much from a technical point of view, except for a section after the Mittelargen-Alpe which is quite difficult to drive.
If you don't feel like pushing and carrying, you should take the road back from Au.
