Manton Gallops

Highlight (Segment) • Structure

Manton Park is a renowned racehorse centre with outstanding facilities and vast training grounds. The gallops here are exceptionally well cared for and in frequent use. With a public byway and plenty of footpaths nearby, you can easily see the gallops for yourself and, if you're passing at the right time, you'll see racehorses...well...galloping.

Totterdown Wood

Highlight • Forest

Wooded area within the Fyfield Downs. Be careful on your choice of footwear. It's muddy, really muddy.... and slippy. Have fun!!

Possibly a fallen standing stone, the Polisher is a very rare example of a stone used to polish stone axes. Associated with the nearby beaker settlement, the stone clearly shows the grooves and smooth dished area where axes were highly finished, perhaps to become high status ceremonial gifts.
It is claimed to be a particularly fine example of a grinding bench for shaping, whetting, and polishing stone axe-heads, and to compare with many Neolithic and Bronze Age examples in France

Fyfield Down

Highlight • Trail

Beautiful views across Fyfield Down, part of the gorgeous Marlborough Downs, over towards West Woods from Delling.

The first part of the path from the Ridgeway is grass (but well-drained), but then turns into good gravel track.
