Parson's Widow's House, Groß Zicker

Highlight • Historical Site

Especially in summer the garden is beautiful. For children, it is certainly exciting to see how one used to live like this. But even in winter, when peace is on the island, worth a walk here.

Whenever we go to Rügen, we go to Bakenberg! Finally we stopped at "De Wienkist" and ate a delicious tarte flambée ;).

Very nice, relaxed and easy tour. We started from our RV parking space just before Thiessow. Of course, on the way back we had to fortify ourselves in the beautifully furnished fish smokehouse in Dumrath. In the garden there are beach chairs to relax in and lots of cute decorations and sayings to discover...

Anyone can do it when the weather is nice. We chose the opposite for our tour. Today's hike took us through Groß Zicker to Nonnenloch (about which there are great legends and stories), over the Zicker Mountains in the rain to Gager (the sun fought its way through for half an hour) and on to Lobbe. Despite all the adversities, …

Last day on Rügen. Perhaps the most beautiful tour of the whole week. The Mönchgut peninsula consists of several headlands and bays that separate the Greifswalder Bodden from the Baltic Sea. It is crisscrossed by spits, hills, and salt marshes. The peninsula got its name in the Middle Ages when it belonged to the Cistercian monastery Eldena near Greifswald and …

This hike is quite strenuous in places, but the view is priceless. It's impossible to capture it in a photo, you have to see it with your own eyes. Stunning.

Pleasantly surprised that the rain had at least cleared up over southeastern Rügen, we spontaneously headed to a long-time favorite spot: Mönchgut, in the Zicker Mountains. Combined with the Baltic Sea beach near Lobbe and the harbor atmosphere in Gager, it was an even more beautiful trip.

Rügen greets us in the morning with sun, yeyyy!
Today we're heading to the "Zicker Berge" in the Mönchgut nature reserve. We were promised beautiful thatched-roof houses and pretty scenery.

The bus picks us up in Binz and spits us out about an hour later, just after half past eleven, in Lobbe, in the middle of nowhere. Per job ticket …

In the past few days the weather had been much better than feared, so that we had already been able to tick off all the points that were on the agenda for Rügen. So yesterday evening a plan had to be found spontaneously for today and the Mönchgut peninsula in the far south-east seemed a worthwhile destination to us.
