Tyrolean Ache

At times, the Tiroler Ache does overflow its banks. No wonder, as it drains a very large Alpine region from Kitzbühel to the Chiemsee.

After 4 weeks finally a bigger bike tour ... just wonderful. Due to the cold in the morning, snow and ice surfaces were easy to drive on. In the afternoon, when some things thaw easily, things tend to be more slippery.

Varied afternoon tour on the Achentalradweg with a detour around the glider airfield in a picture book landscape

The starting point of today's tour is the parking lot in the middle of Marquartstein. Then I followed the path south to the glider airfield. Continue SW to Schleching where the southernmost point of the tour is reached. Then I visited the campsite at Lake Zell. Small, fine and quiet. There is a kiosk here for a break. Then I …

Sodele... Today is a "break day" from the Lake Constance-Königssee cycle path - but ONLY from this tour 😛 The weather is great, so: Let's get on the bike and explore the area 😁 The Achental cycle path caught my eye the other day, why not try this one? 🙄 As a "break filler" it would be worth a try …

A nice easy tour through the Chiemgauer Achental

Showing Translation

A very beautiful and varied route, largely along the Ache River. Lake Wössner is a lovely place to swim.
The glider airfield is also very interesting. The complete route, shown on the Chiemsee Tourism cycling map, is over 70 km long.
It is specifically signposted as the "Achental Cycle Path" on most cycling signposts.
