Obermönsheim Castle

The Obermönsheim district was once a Baden fiefdom. In 1477, Heintzen von Rippur was enfeoffed with Obermönsheim for the first time and from 1584 -1782 it was exclusively owned by von Rieppur. With the death of the last male bearer of the name, Friederike Freiin von Rippur took over Obermönsheim and in 1787 married Ernst August Freiherrn von Phull, a Württemberg descendant of the well-known Brandenburg von Pfuel family. Since then, Obermönsheim has been owned by Phull-Rieppur until the last bearer of the name, Eduard Freiherr von Phull-Rieppur, dies in January 1918.
