The Belfiore Mill

Of the many mills that once existed along the course of the Loncon river, that of Belfiore is the only one that has maintained its original characteristics. The documents that have come down to us date back to the second half of the 1400s, but it is very probable that the original layout is at least two centuries earlier. The property passed from hand to hand over the centuries, until it reached the hands of the Della Pasqua family in 1800. It is currently owned by the Municipality of Pramaggiore. While the modern shovels are visible outside, a beautiful ethnographic museum has been set up inside which houses both the ancient millstones and the gears of a milling plant, and finally some testimonies of peasant civilization, from agricultural tools to some objects and furnishings for daily use.
