Teversal Trail

Highlight • Trail

A former Great Northern Railway line from the late 1800s, the Teversal Trail is now a network of superb gravel tracks that run for miles and link up much of North Notts with the old colliery railway stations. Expect abandoned platforms on the edge of the trail and impressive railway bridges that keep you away from the traffic below. The railways here were mainly used for transporting coal and goods and while coal pits have existed here since the 1600s it wasn't until the railways arrived in the mid-late 1800s that the industry really got serious. Passenger transport died off a few decades into the 1900s.

Recently swapped out the front tyre which decided it wasn't going to hold air 😏 also fitted a new chain but it's been awhile since I last replaced the cassette so that was slipping so i'll just add it to the list of components that I need to replace on this bike
Sunny winter's day ride, not rained for a while but still quite muddy. Nice easy gravel ride apart from the tricky (but worth it IMO) bit through Skegby Bottoms. Beautiful & interesting place, does seem to attract people who like to relax with some funny smelling cigarettes!
Stopped at Brierley Water, which still had an icy crust on top, to …
