The approximately 12-kilometer-long hike starts at the hiking car park and the biological station, then leads to the Ramsachkircherl, also known as "Ähndl", and from there the circular trail through the moor area starts. A special highlight on the circular hike is the plank path. At the junction of the Moos circular trail in Murnau/Westenried, you reach this after about a kilometer. On wooden planks you cross the natural moor landscape and have a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. The boardwalk was designed as a so-called moor nature trail and therefore offers even closer insights into the flora and fauna. Christianization began in southern Bavaria as early as the 3rd and 4th centuries through preaching wandering monks. The first hermitages arose, later churches and monasteries were founded. It was said earlier that the old altar stone and three stone steps should still come from this time. An ossuary used to belong to the churchyard, which is enclosed with a wall. In 1634, when the plague raged in Murnau, many dead were carried here for burial. "
