Cook's Corner

Highlight • Pub

Cook’s Corner is a classic stop for cyclists riding through Santiago Canyon and one of the most popular biker hangouts in Southern California. It’s casual and bike-friendly, with shaded picnic tables and plenty of space to park. Grab a burger or a cold drink, rest your legs, and soak in the lively atmosphere—especially on weekends when it’s packed with motorcycles and live music.

Santiago Canyon Road

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

Santiago Canyon Road is a scenic favorite for road cyclists in Orange County. It’s a long, winding stretch with rolling hills, light traffic, and wide shoulders in most parts. The views of open hills and oak trees make the climb worth it, and you’ll find classic stops along the way for a break.

Maple Springs gate

Highlight • Trail

Maple Springs Trailhead is found at the end of Silverado Canyon Road, in Cleveland National Forest. The gate will be closed at times of high fire risk or bad weather.

Maple Springs Road is initially paved (with some potholes) but gives way to a dirt road. It's exposed, hot and you'll likely be sharing the route with 4x4 / motocross bikes - my recommendation, don't argue about right of way, just give way. And bring your own water!

Reynolds Bench

Highlight • Rest Area

Reynolds Bench is located in an area called "Four Corners," where four trails converge. The four trails are Mustard Road, Whiting Spur Road, Whiting Road, and Water Tank Road. There are trail maps, a water fountain and a bench that overlooks Red Rock Canyon. It's on multi-use trails and a hot spot for a break mid-hike.

Santiago Canyon Road

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

Santiago Canyon Road is a great option for a ride with rolling hills and great views. As you get to the top of each hill, you are treated with a great view of the valley you just climbed out of.

Aliso Creek Bikeway

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

Aliso Creek Bikeway totals 18.5 miles in length, running from South Laguna to Rancho Santa Margarita. There are plenty of rest areas along the route.

What makes this fun, if you're traveling north to south, is it's downhill all the way to the ocean. Perfect for tired legs!
