Three Churches of Mahone Bay

Highlight • Religious Site

The best and most impressive view of the three churches is from the opposite side of the bay. Unfortunately I had no opportunity for a photo at this point.

Mahone Bay Town Center

Highlight • Settlement

The small tranquil boat builder town of Mahone Bay in Nova Scotia is located on the bay of the same name and is known for its riverside three churches. But every single colorful house and the many sweet shops are absolutely worth seeing! Even the public toilet in the parking lot has style!

You may miss the turnoff to Corkum's Island from Hwy 332 unless you spot the sign in one of these photos, then turn onto the opposite road.

Dynamite Trail: Gold River

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

This section of trail runs parallel to Gold River and is mostly flat gravel which makes for easy walking. Stay aware and watch out for bikes and ATVs since this is a popular trail for them.

Here there is a gravel pull off with room for parking and picnic tables overlooking the river. Across the road there is an access point for the Dynamite Trail, making this a good parking spot for a day hike.
