Blue Bridge over the Leine

Highlight • Bridge

One should descend as a cyclist. But hardly anyone does it. In busy conditions, it goes without saying because of the low railing and the narrow width.

Here the line flows under the Ohedamm bridge. The 'Rapid Dig' cannot be seen from here. It only starts behind the 'Schneller Graben' hydroelectric power station. The Leine flows to the north at the hydroelectric power station, the Schnell Graben branches off to the west.

Like driving through the soul landscape coming from Hildesheim to Hanover... Of course it also goes the other way around if a Hanoverian gets lost in Hildesheim... Here's the tour...

The Maschseequellein Hannover is a listed water pump and filter facilities on the west bank in the south of the Maschsee. Since the artificial Maschsee was over time more and more "contaminated" by debris from the leash, the city built an additional pump house in the Ricklinger Masch. From there, water from 1962 from the Ricklinger Kiesteichen through an 800 -meter-long underground pipe the Maschsee supplied below the water level.

That's right, we have about 500 beavers in Hannover and the surrounding area, I often see them when I go kayaking. They destroy entire river banks and in my opinion have become a plague.
