Lochleven Castle is a late 14th or early 15th century tower where Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned in 1567.
Mary Queen of Scots spent a year at the castle as a prisoner and was forced to abdicate before dramatically escaping.

Take a boat ride over to the castle and follow in the footsteps of Mary Queen of Scots and Robert the Bruce. See the tower, still largely complete, the 16th century Glassin Tower, a charming residential tower and enjoy the quiet island setting.

Visitors can enjoy the fragrance from the large beds of pink purslane in the south and east wooded walks from April to July.

A great spot to see more or less the whole loch. We passed towards the end of our ride and our nearly five-year-old was really happy to see how far he’d ridden... even though he was tired by then!

Within Lochore meadows and a lovely spot to give those legs a well deserved rest. I’ve never cut across the meadows before, always preferring the roads, but I always will from this point on. The experience lifted the grey out of the day. It has good surfaces, many tarmac, and lots to see and do if you wanted to stop for a while.

Real slog along Lochty Burn. I don't know what they're doing but the heavy machinery has really chewed up the ground. Still trees down in Blair Adam. U-turn here and u-turn there.
