Po River Cycle Path: Moncalieri to Turin

Highlight • Cycleway

The part of the Eurovelo 8 cycle path that connects Moncalieri to Turin along the Po river can be busy as you enter the city. There is a "high" dirt cycle path, and a "low" asphalted one to divide the flows of pedestrians and cyclists.

Nice scenic route on the banks of the Sangone. Completely asphalted. In many places it passes under the trees, so it is also suitable on hot days. It is mainly a mixed cycle / pedestrian path, so those who ride a bicycle must be careful and moderate their speed.

Bridge over the Sangone stream, with dedicated cycle path on the downstream side. Nice view of the stream, both upstream (with the mountains in the background) and downstream. The cycle path continues on one side towards Rivalta center and towards Turin along the Sangone, on the other towards Bruino-Sangano always along the Sangone. Not far away, there is a water point (fountain) for simple stops, and the Ciclogrill Sangone for more epicurean stops.

It's always nice to pass by here, but on Sundays there are really a lot of people walking on the cycle path and it's a bit uncomfortable

Stupinigi Hunting Lodge

Highlight • Historical Site

Just ten kilometers from the historic center of Turin is this Savoy residence which has become a UNESCO heritage site. Built in the first half of the eighteenth century, designed by the architect Filippo Juvarra, the imposing palace was used by the sovereigns only for very short stays dedicated to hunting activities. In the 19th century it hosted, among others, Napoleon Bonaparte and later the Indian elephant Fritz, given to Carlo Felice of Savoy. Perhaps due to the forced confinement far from natural environments, the animal went mad and began to destroy everything around it, causing damage that is still visible to the wooden furnishings.

Started from home and followed the Gravel Bike Torino trail, the only variant, avoided the section with the private property sign just before None.
Nice route in the company of friends with some sections unknown to me.
