Hydrofoil Pier to Peterhof

Highlight • Rest Area

Peterhof is perfectly reachable from Saint Petersburg by hydrofoils. At a speed of about 50 km / h, the ride takes only about 40 minutes. The fast ride on the Foil was a great pleasure for us in both directions. There were many highlights to admire.
Tip: In the middle area of the boat, you can stand in the open, halfway protected from the wind. This area is also very suitable for filming and photography.

Sea Channel, Peterhof

Highlight • Monument

The garden park Peterhof has a direct connection to the Baltic Sea via the so-called "sea channel". It is located in the middle of the large cascade and thus divides the park into a west and east side.
About this channel - dead straight and about 400 meters long - had the Zar formerly direct access to the sea and could travel by ship to and from St. Petersburg.

Samson Fountain, Peterhof Palace

Highlight • Monument

A focal point of the great cascade at Peterhof is the Samson Fountain. It rounds off the overall impression of the sight very positively.

Grand Cascade, Peterhof Palace

Highlight • Monument

An absolute highlight of the Peterhof is the large cascade. Upon arrival, one of the first sights is the cascade. Simply overwhelming the many gold-decorated figures.

Peterhof Palace

Highlight • Castle

Peterhof Palace (Great Peterhof Palace) is a former summer residence of the Russian Tsars on the Gulf of Finland in Peterhof, about 25 km west of Saint Petersburg.
The complex was built on the occasion of the Russian victory in the Great Northern War, based on the architectural model of the Palace of Versailles and Peter the Great's own designs. The palace and park were built in several stages from 1715 to 1755 in the Baroque style according to plans by Johann Friedrich Braunstein, Jean-Baptiste Alexandre Le Blond, Nicola Michetti and Bartolomeo Francesco Rastrelli.
Peterhof was destroyed during World War II and then rebuilt by Soviet restorers. The ensemble, also known as the "Russian Versailles", has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990 and one of the Seven Wonders of Russia since 2008.

Chessboard Cascade

Highlight • Monument

Pendant to the cascade "Golden Mountain" in the western park - three lion heads spit out water - is the checkerboard cascade. Here are three dragons that "spit out" the water. The cascade levels are strikingly laid out in a checkerboard pattern.
