Highlight • Bridge

This footbridge was opened to the public in Oct 2016 - see newsroom.moray.gov.uk/news/ribbon-cut-on-new-cullen-footbridge - and has replaced the previous 90-year-old bridge.

PS: the photo of the (reflection of) the viaduct, which is attached to this highlight, was taken from the footbridge

Findlater Castle

Highlight • Castle

Great viewpoint ruined castle right on the cliff edge. Some rooms still visible, but take care it's not an easy path and walls look cracked. Gives you a good insight into what it have been like to live in.

Findlater Castle

Highlight (Segment) • Beach

There is a small car park which allows easy access to the castle after just a short walk. The cliffs are steep and care is needed around the castle and at the windows. The beach below is easily reachable to view from a different angle.

Cullen Coastal Village and Beach

Highlight • Settlement

There's plenty to attract hikers to Cullen. This attractive seaside village is the end point of the Moray Coast Trail and boasts some glorious coastal walks. Be sure to try out the famous Cullen Skink, a soup based around smoked haddock. Nearby Bow Fiddle Rock is an obvious highlight.

Inland, you can find a charming, wee hillwalk in the form of the Bin of Cullen, a prominent forested dome. The route to the top is straightforward, ideal for the whole family. From the top, you can enjoy sea views to the north and the enticing profile of the distant Cairngorms to the south.

A good path with some interesting costal features. There are steps towards the cliffs, easily climbed with no danger. Good views back to Cullen once at the top.

Portknockie Harbour

Highlight • Structure

Portknockie is undoubtedly most famous for the staggering natural architecture of Bow Fiddle Rock. However, the entire coastline around the village is sumptuously rugged, with rocky coves and jagged skerries braving the assault of the churning tides. It is also a prime location for spotting the Moray bottlenose dolphins.
