There is the option to park at the hotel for a small fee. which saves the 2km walk from the Spittal of Glenshee/ Walkers Car Park.

Glas Tulaichean is a 1,051m Munro mountain in the Scottish Highlands. It can most easily be ascended from Spittal of Glenshee. The Dalmunzie House Hotel (at the time of writing) will allow walkers to use their car park for a small fee. I saw my first eagle flying from a nest in the cliffs to the northeast of the summit of this Munro. Such a majestic sight to see. I'll never forget it.

Carn an Righ is a 1,029m Munro mountain in the Scottish Highlands. I climbed it from Spittal of Glenshee (in a circuit with Glas Tulaichean and Beinn Iutharn Mhor). On a clear day these mountains, in the south of the Cairngorms National Park, offer wonderful views to the Cairngorms giants in the north

Loch nan Eun

Soggy fells all around this lock with the occasional higher point that you could potentially set up on. If you’re going anytime from late May onwards then be ready to be midges’ supper and breakfast. They don’t get many humans up here so they’re ravenous. Also be wary of ground nesting birds. I moved my spot to give the chicks peace.

It’s an atmospheric place that blows your socks off.
